By not providing choices for our dogs in their daily lives, we risk our dogs becoming more stressed and frustrated, leading to potential problem behaviours, more illness and a reduced lifespan. The choice for dogs is therefore as important as it is for us. Dogs are conscious, intelligent beings with emotions. Although they have adapted very well to our human lives, they are nevertheless a different species, with needs, feelings and desires. They have to make choices to feel happy and to have some control over their own lives.
